These settings and info for Tamilnadu vodafone customers...
Recently I updated my Android operating system to Android 2.2 and I lost my gprs settings. I called customer care thrice and no one was able to help to give correct solution. At last but not the least, a guy was proactive and gave immediate solution.
The solution is, android 2.2 accepts only "Vodafone Mobile Connect" which was not activated by default for my connection. Earlier, I had "Vodafone Live" which won't work for android 2.2, as it is advanced version operating system. So the guy requested me to activate "Vodafone Mobile Connect" by sending an SMS "ACT VMC50" to 111 (toll free) and gave me some settings for GPRS. I then got a reply saying, my requested will be activated within 24 hours.
Next day, I got a message saying that my request is activated and start using the GPRS. I tried and it worked. Hoorray... It is faster than Vodafone Live.
Here is the setting I used for my mobile. Use the below setting as it is
Name - Vodafone Connect
APN - WWW

MNC - //use the default which appears when new APN is created. In my case it is, 43
Authentication Type - None
APN Type - default // you need to type in 'default'
Make sure you type in same case letters for the fields which have values exactly as I've written.
